RULES OF PLAY:

1. TICKETS AVAILABLE:

For the Choices Lottery a total of 345,000 tickets are available, with approximately 176,229 tickets @ 3 for $100 (58,743 3-Packs); 70,488 tickets @ 6 for $175 (11,748 6-Packs); 43,083 tickets @ 9 for $250 (4,787 9-Packs); and 55,200 tickets @ 20 for $500 (2,760 20-Packs). While the number of tickets in each price category may change, the total number of tickets available, 345,000, will not.

For the 50/50 Plus Lottery a total of 612,000 tickets are available, with 66,918 tickets @ 2 for $15 (33,459 2-Packs); 144,714 tickets @ 6 for $30 (24,119 6-Packs); 176,368 tickets @ 16 for $60 (11,023 16-Packs) and 224,000 tickets @ 32 for $90 (7,000 32-Packs)

For the Daily Cash Plus Game a total of 234,800 tickets are available, with 72,878 tickets @ 2 for $25 (36,439 2-Packs); 92,322 tickets @ 6 for $50 (15,387 6-Packs) and 69,600 tickets @ 12 for $75 (5,800 12-Packs).

Each Choices Lottery ticket sold in a 3-Pack, a 6-Pack, a 9-Pack, or a 20-Pack and each 50/50 Plus Lottery ticket sold in a 2-Pack, a 6-Pack, a 16-Pack, or a 32-Pack and each Daily Cash Plus Game ticket sold in a 2-Pack, a 6-Pack, or a 12-Pack must contain the same customer information.

A ticket purchaser must purchase a Choices Lottery 2024 ticket pack to be eligible to purchase 50/50 Plus Lottery and/or Daily Cash Plus Game tickets.

A purchaser may purchase as many Choices Lottery, 50/50 Plus Lottery and Daily Cash Plus Game tickets as they wish, provided they purchase at least one Choices Lottery Pack.

Tickets may be sold and purchased only in British Columbia.

Ticket purchasers must be 19 years of age or older.

No refunds will be issued after commencement of the draws.

2. TAX INFORMATION:

Prizes are awarded tax-free in Canada.  The price of tickets is not deductible as a charitable donation for tax purposes in Canada.

4. PERTINENT DRAW DATES:

Appreciation Bonus and Family Bonus Draws:
Thursday, March 28, 2024, at BCCHF 938 W 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, at 9:00 am. Appreciation Bonus drawn first, followed by Family Bonus.

Spring Bonus and Early Bird Draws:
Thursday, April 18, 2024, at BCCHF 938 W 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, at 9:00 am. Spring Bonus drawn first, then the Early Bird.

50/50 Plus, Daily Cash Plus, Grand Prize and Final Draws:
Thursday, April 25, 2024, at BCCHF 938 W 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, from 9:00 am to 1:00 am for all remaining prizes over $1,000. Grand Prize will be drawn first, followed by the 50/50 Plus Lottery draw and then the remaining prize over $1,000 will be drawn in order of ascending value.

Balance of prizes drawn at BCCHF 938 W 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 9:00 am to 1:00 am, or until completed.  Prizes will be drawn in order of ascending value

5. CASH EQUIVALENTS AND PRIZE DETAILS:

General

Each ticket is re-entered after each prize category.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and must be claimed within 12 months of the draw date.

No substitutions are permitted by winners except where a cash equivalent or alternate prize is specified. Prizes may not be exactly as shown.

To claim a prize with a cash equivalent option, prize winners must provide the following documents on request:

  • Signed and witnessed Waiver Form
  • A copy of their valid Photo Identification
  • A decision to take the cash equivalent of any prize awarded must be made within 10 days of being advised of their prize options.
  • To claim a prize over $1,000 with no cash equivalent option, prize winner must sign back the prize winner letter (winner acknowledgement form)

Main Lottery

There are 3,008 prizes available to be won.

The retail value of all prizes is $3,482,183 based on Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price as provided by our suppliers and this amount includes any related taxes on the individual prizes.

50/50 Plus Lottery

There is one prize available to be won.

The 50/50 Plus Lottery is a 50/50 style draw where the money received in ticket sales is divided evenly between the winner and the charity.

Daily Cash Plus Game

There are 126 prizes available to be won.

The total cash prizes are $348,000.

6. ELIGIBILITY:

The following, including their spouse and any related or dependent person residing in the same household are prohibited from purchasing a ticket in this lottery: board members and employees of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, partners, and employees of official auditors KPMG, MNP LLP and SCI.

7. PURCHASING RESTRICTIONS:

A non-resident of British Columbia may purchase a ticket only if the entire payment transaction takes place while the person is physically in British Columbia and if the ticket or a receipt is issued at that time. Tickets must be purchased at a retail sales outlet (London Drugs, Save-On Foods, or if open, one of the prize homes selling tickets).

Non-residents of British Columbia may not purchase a ticket via the Internet, by phone, or by mail.

Tickets or receipts will not be distributed to, mailed or otherwise sent to a non-resident’s third-party address in BC.

A resident of British Columbia may purchase a ticket only if the entire payment transaction takes place while the person is physically in British Columbia and if the ticket or a receipt is issued at that time. When a resident of British Columbia is outside the province of British Columbia, they may not place an order to purchase tickets. This restriction includes all methods of ordering tickets, including mailing in your order.

British Columbia Charitable Lotteries have changed to allow for online and over the phone ticket sales. The following three conditions must be met to purchase tickets online.

Ticket purchasers must be physically in the province of BC when placing the order.

  1. The address given for tickets to be mailed to must be a valid BC address.
  2. The entire payment transaction must take place in British Columbia.
  3. Non-residents of British Columbia cannot purchase tickets by phone, mail, or over the Internet.

8. OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION:

3,008 prizes to win.

All prize draws will be conducted in accordance with Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch – Licensed Charitable Gaming Rules.

Each ticket is re-entered for every prize category.

The records of MNP LLP shall be deemed correct if there is a discrepancy in numbers.

All sales are final once the ticket number is assigned, contact customer service if you require more information.

The Licensee reserves discretionary right not to accept entries.

The Purchaser is responsible for proof-of-ownership of shared tickets.

Allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of your official ticket.

Should a prize be unavailable due to circumstances beyond the Foundations’ control, the winner shall be awarded the fair market value of the prize.

The liability of the Foundation is limited to the ticket price paid.

Ticket purchasers must be 19 years of age or older.

If a winning ticket bears a minor’s name, the prize will be lawfully delivered on behalf of the minor to the minor’s parent, legal guardian, or trustee.

*The grand prize winner will choose one grand prize option; the other options will not be awarded.

Winners will be notified by phone or email as to the prize(s) they have won and how to claim.

Winners consent to the release of their names and photo by the Licensee.

Winners have one (1) year from the draw date to claim their prizes.

A decision to take the cash equivalent of any prize awarded must be made within 10 days of being advised of their prize options.
